I am fully aware of the initial reason for this thread. Thanks. I can post questions wherever I please as they may get an answer from someone in this thread who has experienced what I'm asking. Unless you have something productive for me then there is no need for you to reply. Thanks.

    My apologies.

However, I did ask a serious question that was meant to be productive. Are you wanting to install a picatinny rail for mounting a scope?

You might try asking in this thread as well, http://mossbergmvp.com/index.php?threads/do-you-ccw.18/

I can't remember the thread but I believe it is in the modifications section on the board concerning installing a picatiny rail.

The only other stock I know that is made for the MVP is the HS3 (I think I got the model right). The MVP is relatively new compared to some of the other bolt rifles out there, so not a lot has been made for them yet.

Azmikeymike might consider his manners as well and accept that someone was trying to be helpful. Keyboard commando tough guy stuff probably won't fly here for long.

I have a old Tasco EURO-Class 1.5x6x44 30MM scope on mine. I do not know who makes the rings I have, they appear to be a med height. The scope offers excellent optic, don't think Tasco think Leupold mid line scope. Clear crisp and brite with a duplex reticle.
I really like the scope, but this gun shoots SOO GOOD, I feel I am handicapping myself a bit with only 6X. I ordered a Weaver KASPA 3x12x44 30MM to replace it. Its a little shorter and 4oz lighter then the Tasco.

Just because it says tasco on the side doesn't eliminate it being a good optic. I have an old late 1960's / early 70's era 3-9x scope that was made in japan and sold under the hurricane brand. As far as I can tell it was made by Tasco at the Hakko factory. It's first focal plane with a duplex reticle with really clear glass and solid internals. Before the modern world forced Remington to cheapen the 700 with MIM parts and pressed checkering and Tasco flooded the market with junk they both made very high quality products.

Truth be told, Tasco has never made scopes per se'. They subcontracted them. The japanese made lines were almost uniformly good though there were a few periods where QC was so-so. From what I've read they made a "Titan" line at one point which was basically a tank of a scope and collectible today. They were too expensive to make. After about 1995 or so things went downhill for tasco because they found out China was a cheap place to make junk. Unfortunately they didn't consider what would happen to their reputation.

Redfield learned that. Thankfully, Leupold bought them and incorporated some of their technology into the brand. Word has it that their quality is about on par with what you get with a Nikon or a Vortex now.

I liked redfield back in the old days. They at one time were my go-to brand for a hunting scope. I'm really glad the brand got saved.

My scope on my MVP Flex 308 is a Zeiss Duralyt 2-8x42, made in Germany. A very nice scope.
