Bought myself two new Spikes Tactical Punisher lowers the other day. Christmas present to me!

So now I gotta figure out what to do with them. I currently have an 18" SPR (my version), 16" Tactical and a 16" Lightweight. All 5.56mm.

Been looking at the Sharps 25-45 cartridge, using a 20" Black Hole Weaponry barrel for one. Then just totally blinging out the other and sticking with 5.56mm (no real reason for the bling other then, it can be done).

What has attracted me to the 25-45, very little case prep, to accommodate the larger 87gr bullets. Anyone have any experience with the cartridge?

I'm also open to suggestions that anyone might have?

Well if you want to do something that will keep you up at night till all the bugs are worked out try something in 7.62x39! It CAN be done and is a hoot to shoot! There are some really nice parts out there for .22lr as well! Check out Taccom3g for that kinda stuff. Both make for lots of cheap shooting! And fun!!
Good question though! I have several AR's in different calibers and another stripped upper begging to be built but what caliber!? Interesting to see where you land with this one!

Leaning towards .25-45 Sharps for one of them. Not sure on barrel length yet.

I did contemplate a 7.62x39 build. I just finished an A-10 build that had some teething pains. Not sure if I want to do that again with a different caliber. I am watching the CMMG Mk47 Mutant though. :)

I really like the .223/5.56 cartridge. And it's hard to stray away from it. It's availability being the biggest strong point. And if you reload, there is some really good performance that can be gained by using 60gr - 69gr bullets.

I'm a big Marvel Comics fan. So nabbing a couple was cool.

I'd love to start reloading again but powder doesn't exist in my area. Which makes me slightly hesitant with the .25-45 Sharps. I'm not in a hurry yet. Might change when our lovely elected officials in Oregon come back in session. They have some ugly stuff in the works with no one to stop them.
