And the panic has set in! I was at the local gun store today and ARs were flying off the shelf. I heard customers talking to each other about AR 15 rifles and it was painfully obvious they had no idea what they were talking about or getting into. They just knew they needed to get an AR before they were banned. Then they were hit with the sticker shock of ammo! It was taking 45 min for the gun store to run the NICS background check because the Feds were so busy! Crazy!!!! Then I looked on GunBroker.com a little bit ago and WOW! There are several AR15 complete lowers w/collapsible stocks bidded upwards of $600.00! I just paid $479.00 for an Armalite AR10 complete lower on Monday and I felt that was a little steep. Any body else seeing the the panic buying?

That's ridiculous!! and on a side note there's going to be a lot of "idiots" with AR15's because they just absolutely had to have one...

I'm just glad I have what I have. I may sell an extra AR for an unreasonably high price on gunbroker and if it sells, great. If not, then no worries, I'm still ahead.

I worry if I will be able to afford the magazines for a .308 MVP if I buy one.

Just let the dust settle. Here in a month or two we will see if the AWB talk has any legs to it. Sorry Dust, no pun intended!:D

That's a good deal right now. I just sold a ArmaLite AR10 complete lower with 2 new 20rd ArmaLite mags for $1299.00.

I don't see any magazines for it, so that would be another few hundred dollars right now.

Seems the panic buyers bought up all the bullets too. The only thing I was able to get was 2 boxes of 70 grain Berger VLDs for 65.00. Primers will probably be the next to go.

Yep, the panic buying here in Austin was total chaos. I happened to walk into McBride's just to look around and the line to get to the gun counter was 27 and growing. And yes, everyone in line wanted an AR. The store staff guy was complaining as he filled out the 4473. He was saying that this type of action by the buyers will just piss off the anti-gun crowd. Never thought I would see a store employee bitch about selling a gun. Academy pulled al AR style rifles from the rack (a craven, gutless move) and then sold them as fast as the customers could get to them. All .223 ammo was gone in 60 seconds or so. Cabela's sold all their ARs in 2 days but they still had some small piles of .223 with the cheapest being RUAG zinc-plated steel FMJ for $7. PMags disappeared like free hot dogs at a picnic. I was in Cabela's on the 27th looking for a reflex sight and saw one of the counter guys holding 3 30 round MagPuls. He said they were his and that he had ordered them some time ago. Then two of the other sales guys told him he should make them available to customers. I asked what the price on them was and he told me $18. I told him I sure would buy a few more for that price and he said there are "45 of these on the floor somewhere". Naturally none could be found. A few minutes later the magazine guy comes up to me and hands me two of the mags. I asked if he was sure and thanked him. Most small gun shops around Austin that still have/are getting PMags want $50+ for the 30s. Crazy indeed!

I'm seeing Federal 62gr green tip going for $13.99 per box around my neck of the woods now. What little ammo there is is just selling out everywhere.

Hey, that's not too bad. The only .223 around here was at Cabela's. It was American Eagle 50 grain varmit going for $14.99. I offered some of my Tula 75 gr HP up on Texas Gun Trader and got a snide comment back about it costing $5.99 at Academy. Obviously the weasel hasn't been to any stores lately.

It's like that here in montana too. No 223/556 or 7.62 in 39 or 51 varieties on the shelves. Guns of all sorts going out the door. Glock mags? Good luck with that.
