I did a bad bad thing.

Hi all, without thinking I overtightened the screw in front of the trigger. As you are probably aware this results in the screw protruding into the way of the bolt. To withdraw the screw makes the screw loose.

Ive got a couple of ideas of how to fix it but that is thebest way?

    thanks

    Colin

If I were a betting man I'd put my money on the screw being stretched. I done it myself a few times.

Got a hardware store nearby ?

Thanks for the welcome, yeh. Im thinking an unsightly washer or file down the screw. There must be a better solution though. :(

Eeh, replace it. Stretching screws weakens them and they are cheap enough that when I go to the hardware store for one I get several.

Aha, I split the plastic on the trigger guard. Now to source a replacement trigger guard.

Ill post a pic of the split for everyone to see. Another reason to dump the plastic guard, I over tightened the screw and split it.
