Yeah the -1 and 1 might be a receiving accounting bit.

I still have my stock trigger which never gave me any trouble if someone wants to try it. Freebie.

    I know,
It seems like they worked on everything
    Except what I complained about.
Would they replace the trigger but
    Say nothing about it ?
Tomorrow I'm going to take the action
Out and take a look at the trigger.
    Maybe the serial number denoted
And issue with the barrels from the
Factory and the just replaced it.
Maybe that's why all the misfires ?
They did leave a 3-9x40mm scope
On when they sent it back. But
Its such a cheap scope I have no
    Use for it.
    Christmas eve , Christmas tomorrow
Range is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Looks like cold and rain for days after
That. Don't know when I can get a chance to
See if its OK. Hope so
Dry fire in the house, never revealed
    Any issues before.
They did seem to work on the
    Scope rail.
I have put scope back on and align
    It with bore lazer.
So, I'll see what's up eventually.

I had wondered that myself. Possible they cleaned debris from the trigger and since they didn't replace it they didn't list it. Barrel may have been exactly what you thought. May have been out of tolerance so they swapped it while it was in there. So you sent yours in with no scope and got one back with it? Hmmm, strange.

You know you could call them and ask what they did and they can look it up and give you more info if your interested. Think I would out of curiosity. Also they had called me when they were done and told me when it was going back to me. Reminded me an adult would have to be home to sign for it and I got an e-mail with a tracking number so I could watch out for it. Fed Ex even called the day before reminding me about the adult signing thing. Sure doesn't seem to be any consistency. Or maybe it's a "different states require" kind of thing. Anyway, good luck. Hope that fixes it. I know what you mean about eventually. Snowing like hell here and has been colder than a .....well really cold! Can't bring myself to sit at a concrete shootingbench when it's 12 below zero, lol.

    No email
    No tracking number
    Nothing
Son going to work 8 this morning
    Fedx Truck pulls up
    So strange.
    I thought 7.62 chambers
    Are larger then 308 ?
    Doesn't seem like it compared
    To my savage.
    Resized brass that reads
    1.628. Doesn't chamber.
    Can't close bolt. Chambers
    Fine in 308 savage.?

A military 7.62x51mm chamber will be sloppier than a commercial 7.62x51 or .308win chamber. Hot dog in a hallway kind of slop. Most military .308's are machine guns which come with shockingly loose chambers for reliability. Commercial 7.62x51mm chambers I've seen have been pretty snug with a long throat. Proper commercial .308win chambers I've used are way tighter.

For your 1.628, that's overall length or length to the neck or to the mid-shoulder datum line? How long is the neck? In any event I'm betting you need to shove the shoulder back .002 to get it to clear. 1.630 is go, 1.634 is no-go for commercial. 1.635 is go for Military.

    1.630 to datum
Will not chamber. Can not close bolt.
    Factory 7.62 round which
    Measures 1.620/1.623 in that range
    Will chamber fine
If I anneal round to 1.625
    Its OK. Longer no good

My savage 99 must have a much
    Larger chamber
It will chamber a case I sized
And reads 1.629 but my 7.62
Bolt will not close. Go figure

    I know what you mean
I'm way to old to sit will
With the wind blowing in my face
When freezing out, as much as I
    Want to be out shooting.

    I mentioned when I started
    This thread that I didn't
Have this rifle but a little
    More then two weeks
    Before sending it back to
    Mfg for repairs.
    I was testing some annealed
Sized mil brass in the chamber
To see if the bolt closes
OK and I see how much the
Case sticks out of the barrel
    Chamber. its the whole bottom
Of the rim, maybe more for the
    Ejector.

I have two savage rifles and the
    Cartridge is inside
A steel chamber with a cutout
    For the ejector.
But you can't screw those barrels
    Out.
    Amazing back of cartridge
    Doesn't explode.
