I have had nothing but problems with my MVP LC .308 I have never had a new gun act so cheaply made. I have trigger problems that make it dangerous to even shoot and when it does actually fire, it will not eject the spent shell. Either I got a total lemon or there are others having the same problems. For the price of this thing, you would at least think it would shoot. Right now I'm thinking about using it for a boat anchor.

I have ordered a new JARD trigger for it so that will help some of the problems but why would it not eject the rounds? I have tried four different brands of ammo and it does the same on everyone. What could be wrong with the extractor system and how would you even fix it?

    Frustrated? You bet, big time.

Gladly but what is the process? I sent them an e-mail and got no reply. I can't just box it up and send it to them and hope they get it and fix it.

call them . I have been through this with another brand of firearm . hold their feet to the coals and make them either fix your rifle or send a new one .

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Pretty upsetting when you get a new rifle and it turns out to be a dissapointment.

The MVP line has been plagued by QC issues but in the end they're still good rifles and Mberg has been fixing them with as little hassle as seemingly possible from everything I'm seeing. Yes it's irritating as hell to get a new thing and it not perform as advertised but that's what warranties are for.

I once bought a RIA Tactical and had to send it back 3 times before it even had a box of ammo through it. After that though they'd hand fitted the whole thing part by part and I had probably the finest stock RIA Tactical pistol that could be had. I just bought a $3K scope and it came out of the box just a little less than perfect. I've sent it back and it'll come back perfect. Was I happy about the glitches? Hell no. Each time I ship one of these things it costs me nearly a hundred bucks. Sometimes you get the bull and sometimes the bull gets you. Speaking of which, I gotta ping CS about that scope. See if they'll toss and ARD in the box for the hassle. (if you don't ask, and politely, you never get)

Thanks. Some times it helps to just vent. It's also nice to hear that I am not the only one with issues like this. Todays QC seems to be lacking on almost everything. They need stronger QC in almost every industry. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

I would call them personally. I am still waiting to hear back from an email about my broken extractor. I have gotten 1 response from them asking for my serial number. I have not heard back from them after responding to the email. It has been 2 weeks.

Patience, you will like it once you've worked out the bugs.

There are a couple guys in this forum that sell upgraded MVP parts; I had to replace the extractor, spring, & detent.

MB isn't known for answering emails; phone them or replace things at your own expense.

I'm starting to wonder if some of the rifles that have flaws, are the rifles that were previously rejected/returned.

I had an issue with the stock bolts and sent an email, but never really got a response. But I sent a PM to mossberg through their Facebook page and got a response pretty quick. I explained my problem, told them the make and serial number of the gun and they shipped out my parts right away.

This is the first report I've heard of them sending parts. Please post a link to their FB page.

capitald: If your extractor is busted, ping crossfire precision and order some of his. They're better and faster.

Report #2; MB sent me the missing Patrol rear sight (I suspect it could have been pilfered at the distribution ctr) after 3 phone calls. It took a month from the first call to actual delivery. But they completely ignored my request to analyze the broken parts I found in the chamber and on the bolt face; was the extractor.

Much more expedient to buy upgraded parts from an astute aftermarket company like Crosshair Precision LLC.

Echo the request for the FB link; I could ask my dealer to contact them via FB...brilliant!

what did you end up doing? I finally got a chnace to shoot mine and my trigger seems to be like your's. if you touch the trigger and not the blade it will drop onto the safety catch. my 3 ruger's have the similar style trigger and don't do this. I turned the adjustment screw in 1 turn. it helped but didn't fix it. I ordered a timney had them set it at 1.5lbs. dropped in without and dremeling to the chassis and has to be the nicest trigger I have ever had on a rifle since my custom mauser in 6.5-06 that I use to have. I though about sending it back but it just gave me an excuse to order the timney anyways.

I can see a trigger recall in mossberg's future if they sent a bunch of bum triggers.

as far as extracting goes mine worked like a champ no issues at all.

I just KNOW that this will be very hard to believe, but, here goes.
SO, I'm sitting here a few nights ago and decided to check my long guns.
I have my MVP Patrol 5.56 in a soft bag.
Now this rifle has NEVER been fired other than maybe at the factory.
In fact, it just sits down here, in the basement, in its "bag". Period.
So, I take it out of the bag, take off the scope, take off the trigger lock and pull the bolt out.
I take a soft cloth and start to wipe it down (look, I'm such a fanatic about oil and grease from my hands I wear cotton gloves!)
Then I notice what appears to be a "scratch" mark on the right side fore end of the stock.
Odd. Never noticed it before. Well, on closer inspection it is a CRACK!
Maybe 2 inches long from the very tip of the stock coming backwards.
I'm at a complete loss as to how this got there!! Really!!
I've had this since 6/2015 and have wiped it down several times. Never saw this crack before.
Has anyone heard of these things cracking spontaneously?

Guess I'll start looking for a replacement.

never seen one crack that wasn't already there from the beginning. the early model 223's came with a chunk broke off the front left side of the tip of the stock. had something to do with the way they were packed in the factory box. the was later fixed by adding a extra cardboard insert.

being laminate it's very possible that there was a weak spot that opened up over time, possible dampness or dryness from being in the basement?

gets some gorilla glue and fix it. o

is that black finish on wood? the crack may have been under the finish since the start and finally flexed enough to crack through the finish.

if it was mine I would attempt to glue it.

the only other option is to contact mossberg and see what the say. or like you suggested buy another stock. keep us posted on what you do

    HI.
That's the stock it came with.
Seems to be a composite or laminate.
