Has anyone been able to get an extractor ordered? I have 3 MVP's down for the count. I'm desperate to get a couple of these and the detents.

I have. If you're completely boned I see if I still have a spare and if I do I'll hook you up. Someone might want to look up CHP and see if we can't get a call in to them.

As long as it's been, whatever is going on is apparently not a temporary thing. Sad to say it but unless we hear something from CHP soon, I'm guessing they have gone out of business.

Well I spoke briefly with Robert this evening. He's most definitely alive and kicking hard and very busy, really enjoys the MVP community here and enjoys serving it.. Did I mention he is B-U-S-Y ? As a rule I don't repeat things told to me in confidence. Hang in there and give him a week or two to finish doing what he's doing before he tells ya what he's up to. .....stay tuned.

Lost my extractor over a year ago on steel case ammo. I'm getting the itch to shoot my MVP once again. Are the kits still for sale?

That's what I finally had to do. I always find it strange when people don't want to take my money, but whatever.

I contacted Mossberg and ordered 2 extractors. Just to be on the safe side. Took about 5-7 days to arrive. Installed a new one, put a snap cap in a mag, chambered it and pulled the trigger, cycled the bolt and no extraction. I tried a couple of used brass cases with no luck. I compared the one I took out to a new one and they look identical. It looks like my extractor isn't the problem. Tilt the barrel up a bit and both snap cap and brass come right out no problem. Possible chamber issue?

Sounds like the detent ball is missing. May have exited stage left when it broke previously. Spring, detent ball, slide extractor on while depressing ball, detent ball centers extractor and provides the linear force to grab rim.
