    I have a couple Adventure Line surplus mags that work. No retention or feed issues. Have heard mixed reviews about P-mags. Want to know if anyone has tried a super cheap thermold yet.

    I have used C-Products steel mags and Magpul polymers in my MVP without any problems. Thermold 20s should be GTG.

    Magpul PMAGS are my favorite. The 30 round variety.

    I've used all Colt, or DHIndustries mags from Vietnam and they all feed great. They have all been 20 round mags. I have tried their factory 10 rounder and it worked great as well. The c-products 10 rounders work really well too.

    I have seen several YouTube reviews on the Thermolds and MVP. The Thermold mag locked up tight with no problems. Hope this isn't going to be a gun-by-gun fit problem. My 18.5" Predator is supposed to come in Tuesday and I have 10 Thermolds on order. Wish me luck on the mag fit!

    Welcome to MossbergMVP.com Lonestarlizard! The only problem so far with thermolds was in a MVP in 204 ruger. I think it may be more an issue with the 204 case neck in the mag. 5.56 should be fine. Be sure to post us a range report!

    Thanks. I went back to the tube and couldn't find the same review I mentioned earlier. I did find one that said his MVP did not like them but his friend's MVP liked them just fine. After I receive mine and get some glass on it, I'll upload some pics and reviews.

    My Magpul 20 rounders do not fit well. The way the notches land on the mag allow it to rock forward and back in the gun. Sometimes this will not allow the next round to be stripped from the mag. I have plans to remedy this by modifying the Pmags.

    I am having the same problem with steel mags. My 20rd steel just falls out.
    Anybody have a fix. Gonna pickup some polymer mags next.

    I received the 10 Thermold 20 round mags and they did not fit well without some force applied. Just one pass of a dremel along the top of the mag stop block (on the back of the mag) corrected this for my Predator's mag well. They all fit just fine now and feed OK. I also got one Magpul 20 round from Academy ($13) and it fits great without any mods. The last pict shows the original MVP, a Thermold and the Magpul. I think the Magpuls are the best quality but the Thermolds are hard to beat for less than $5 at most online sites.

    Wish I could order those. Since I am in California I can only get 10rds. Going to las Vegas soon. I'll sneak away and go to the gun store.

    Ah yes, the Peoples Democratic Republic of California has all those pesky gun laws doesn't it? I am so glad I bailed out of that Marxist empire in 1990! You may want to hop over the border fairly soon. The king-messiah is planning some heavy executive action against guns and I wouldn't wait too long. Can you even legally own magazines with a capacity of greater than 10 in that crazy state?

    Hk mags work in mine.

    UPDATE
    G.I. aluminum 20 and 30 round mags from adventure line, brownells, center, colt, cooper, d&h, parsons and sanchez also fit and fed fine.
    No surprise there.

    3 ea 1st gen P-mags were tested and found to not lock in place.
    Again, no surprise.

    Any one test any 2nd or 3rd gen P-mags or E-mags ?

    2nd Update;
    Israeli Orlite 30's fit nice and snug with a just a hint of drag :) but do not latch :( no time to find out why. Findings and fix to be posted in future update.

    3rd update:
    The owner of the Orlite mags changed his mind about letting me file and sand on one.

    4th update;

    The neighbor with all the cool mags above let me test fit his Beta C mag and Chinese 120 round drum today.

    Both locked and dropped with no problem and fed dummy rounds fine.

    I will take a pic of my modified 20 round Pmag tonight. I added some material to it along with some grip tape in the right spots. Tight to get in, but solid as a rock when in the rifle.

    Here are my results so far with my 18.5" and mags
    Center Industries, NHMTG, no issues
    Lancer L5, sits and locks in easy, but has a lot of play/slop when seated (even more than the factory)
    My Magpul Gen2 20 and 30 round pmags seem to lock in/up fine, just need to give the mag a "tap" to seat. I suspect maybe trimming like the post above notes may make this better.

    Anyone use the L5-AWM? I used to work for a company that manufactured all the plastic components for Lancer so i have quite a few mags sitting around now. Hopefully when my gun comes in I will be able to use all my mags.
