My ER-25 5-25x58mm that I'd gotten a while back, it's back for it's second trip to the factory for warranty work. Right out of the box the objective lens was catty wompus just enough for me to notice and so it went back. They handled that nicely and I got a free ARD out of it. This time, I get the thing to the range and find out that it's not reliably pulling adjustments out after they're put in, especially near the limits of travel and it's doing it on windage and elevation. Basically I could zero it and hold off using the reticle but no adjusting turrets or my zero would be b0rk. So, back it goes. They think my rings might be at fault but I'm really certain that's not the case. It did that before when I sent it in the first time before it was ever mounted in rings and I guess they just didn't fix that bit and I didn't notice till I started dialing DOPE.

So it's back in their fix-it shop. They'll repair it or replace it. Fine. It's still a USO even if the quality control guy on this one was asleep and it's taken so far twice for them to get on with making it right. They're downright friendly and helpful about it.

So it's heading back to me, should be here Tuesday, and we'll see how it ends up. I was hoping to use the rifle it goes on in the August match and that got boned by not just scope problems but extractor problems and ammo problems so I had to use my .223. The September match I was not able to attend due to travel I had to do for work. The October match I'm going to use my .223 again just because I'm so close to breaking the course record. I've also got another USO on the way in a month, a 3.8-22x44 SN-3 Ergo. At least I know that scope won't need repair out of the box... it's 5 years old.

For the amount of money you pay for those, I hope they got it right this time.

yeah, I hope so. We'll see. I'm happy to have it coming back at last. All this time in the shop isn't helping me get trigger time on the .308 for load development. Had to buy 300 more Berger 70 grain VLD's to hold me over till I can get the .308 readied for a match. Also need to swap brakes. I'm moving to a JP Bennie Cooley brake on it for a bit. See if it helps. If it doesn't I'll put the Barret M468 brake back on.
