    Thanks for that.

Cliff's Notes: Meh. Doesn't do anything proven existing designs don't do but has really mild recoil so there's that.

And performs like ball ammo as long as there isn't anything hard in the way.

There's that detail minus the fact that against any hard barrier like wood or metal the projectile seems to break, not fragment but break. That seems like an undesirable trait which copper jackets more or less solve when properly applied to a ductile metal core.

Perhaps this ARX bullet could be used as the core of a more conventionally jacketed round and that would be pretty nifty, other than the relatively small temporary and permanent cavities it makes, just like ball.

The ARX would be a good Choice for a Women's self defense round with the recoil being lower would allow them to put more hits on target especially in panic mode...

I could get behind that. Reduced recoil is always good. I wouldn't single out women though. Some fellas are of the nervous persuasion too.

I also know women who prefer .45ACP over a 9mm or .380. Everyone is different.

This topic was recently-discussed by a gun manufacturer representative at the last sportsman's club meeting.

The rep said some (less than nice) things about those bullets in regards to how they cycle in his company's handguns.

Which 1980's crime-fighting TV show featured a villain who was using ice projectiles on one of their episodes?

    Columbo. I remember that episode.

There was also a really bad Wayans movie with that plot device.
