Got it a couple months ago, took it out shooting finally. The local range only goes up to 25yds but hopefully I can take it out to 200-300 yds during Christmas break.

Well, unfortunately I only had time to do the 50 yds. (Ammo was IMI M855) I could've done the 100 the same day but the rain was picking up and rest of the week was crap weather. After I got back home, I realized that my barrel wasn't free-floating so I had to take a dremel to it.

Make sure there's enough clearance so it doesn't touch under recoil too.

Inconsistent contact can be worse than non-floated sometimes.

Supposedly, if you can run a dollar bill between the stock and the barrel, the clearance is good. That may be just and "old wives tale".

it is but it's a really good indicator of sufficient space if the bill doesn't drag anywhere if you're doing a hunting rifle where a big gap is just a place for debris to move into. I prefer 3 sheets of plain white 92 albido printer paper stacked as a minimum on wood fore-ends. More with plastic, less with metal.

Well was able to take it to 200 yards today. 3 out of the 20 shots I had taken hit inside the 8" circle. I'm going to have to make a bigger target. Had a hard time since I was shooting North and the wind was coming from SSE at 25 MPH. Couldn't really see what was going on since I am without a spotting scope and gave up. Ill try again later.

What is a penny riser mod?

The wind can really push those little pills around.

On my rifle, the receiver sits on two (guessing) .375 bushings where the screw goes in to combine the receiver to the stock. Between the receiver and stock sits the factory plastic magwell. The magwell also has holes for the bushings. Well my magwell had a lot of up and down free play and causing feeding issues. So I needed to make the mag to come up a little. So I took two pennys and drilled a hole, did some filing to make them fit onto the bushings. So I have a penny over the bushing, underneath the magwell, making it rise to get closer to the receiver. A penny is .050 thick which was perfect since now I have no play in my magwell and the feeding issues have stopped.

This image is how it came from factory. The rear post sticks out like a sore thumb causing the mag to move because the plastic isn't touching the receiver. The front post is also higher than the mag but not as much. Still have play in it nonetheless.

This is how i have the pennys setup.

And this is what it looks like after.

The rear is now level with the plastic and the front post is slightly lower than the plastic but when you tighten the receiver on, it has contact with the posts and the plastic causing no play or feeding issues (In my case)

Looks like CHP has another product to make. Precision thickness ground riser bushings. If you can get those pillars in proper contact with the action you'll have better accuracy. Plastic as a bedding surface is not optimal. Neat mod though. Perhaps thin out the front penny or sand out some plastic there so your action sits properly on top of the pillar.

Took it out today and tested it again but at 100yds. Got it within an 6in circle but not a "group" by any means. I believe your right spam, the front penny is interfering with the accuracy quite a bit. Id tap the stock and it would move 2-3 inches. I didnt have my tools with me so Ill have to take out again. I'm going to remove the front penny but leave in the rear and try it again.
