Very nice collection
My latest AR-15 Build. Spikes Tactical receiver set.
Very nice, my first rifle that I built was a Spike's and it served me well. Started getting into tactical competitions so this is what I run now:
This is my 4th completed small frame AR. Also have a completed large frame AR. And three more receiver sets waiting in the safe. I was bit by the bug bad.
I built my take of an SPR to go with my MVP Patrol 5.56. Think my latest above might slip into that slot.
nice build and excellent choice on the stock I have run one for 8 years on my 458 socom and it is still rock solid.
Yeah I've got the bug too, especially with JP Rifles offerings. That Seekin's AR has a JP match barrel, Low Mass BCG, and Silent Captured Buffer Spring. Makes me sad that I live in California, would've liked to have run a suppressor to see how quiet it is.
I'm looking at a building a AR in 308 and have been looking at Mega Arms Matched Receivers with JP guts. My wife is clearly annoyed and my wallet hates me.
Quick question for you. How well does the UBR butt stock balance out the rifle?
Thanks! I really like the CTR. I use it on a few different rifles. For the price, it's hard to beat.
JP Enterprise makes some very nice stuff. I use the .308 SCS in my large frame AR. Bought the spring tuning pack to go with it too.
Mega Arms makes really good stuff also. I almost bought an 18" barrel for the build above. But I wanted to try and keep the weight minimal. And ended up going with a chromed lined 16" Spikes.
Oh man! Your rifle suppressed would be cool!
I hear yeah about the wallet and wife. I get the look almost daily. And with the latest .308 lower I picked up today. It was like laser beams burning into my soul.
It actually balances out very well with the thick match barrel. Lemme tell ya, if I were ever get butt-stroked for some unknown reason, I would not want it to be by this hefty solid stock.
I forget the gun blog that did it but they ran torture tests on a myriad of stocks and this one passed with flying colors.
I've had my eye on the UBR for sometime. Have also fondled it a little. It's a heavy duty stock NO doubt about it. Just might end up on one of my next builds, maybe a 20" barreled receiver. Thanks for offering up your experience with it. Much appreciated!
My Rem 700 .308 in a MDT LSS chassis and my AR 308. I built the large frame to go with the Remy. The spotter has to have a capable rifle too, that has the ability to lay down suppressive fire if needed, right?
nice 308!!! mine isnt as fancy as yours but still one of my favorite rifles to shoot, when i can afford to....lol
Oh man, if you don't catch a sale, good quality .308 gets expensive quick.
Thanks on my AR 308. Was mostly a fun rifle to put together. And happy with its end result. The lack of standards though, made for a few challenging moments.
I bought another large frame lower earlier in the week. Not sure what direction I'll go with it yet. Learned a lot on the first build, so I'm hoping the next one goes a little better.
I've been eyeing a Mega MATEN matched receiver set on CalGuns for some time. Hopefully the planets align and he still has it at the same time as I have a little bit of dough in my hand.
That's a very nice large frame AR. Aim Surpuls has a Mega Arms 20" .308 barrel for $250 with the coupon coda bryanfreakinrocks .
Nice barrel too, it's stainless that has been treated inside and out. All I've read about them has been good.

.308 ARs are nice an fun to shoot but everything about them is expensive compared to an AR15. And there is the compatibility issue. With an AR15, one only has to worry about commercial spec vs. mil spec. AR10 type platforms are a whole different world. I wouldn't get rid of mine though.
