Guys once again thanks for the comments. I have spoken with the machinist and it looks like we can do a group buy for 35.00 bucks each if we get at least 15 guys. The anodized versions are 40.00. I have to buy at least 30 of them to get any kind of decent price, but I am in this for the long haul and this is only the first piece. I am planning to make a Ext mag release as well as a full bottom replacement in time. I will post a list of the guys that I have already, if I miss someone I apologize in advance . If I put your name in and you do not want to be in its no problem just let me know. I hope to have a completion date by tomorrow. For the guys that want to see the actual piece just check out the modified section of the forum. I have pictures posted there.

Just curious but do you have a design for the extended mag release yet?

    Robert,

Thanks so much for actually undertaking this! It's awesome to see that you created something and can get it produced. I'd most certainly be interested in the other options as they become available.

Please put me down for one. Thanks!

edit: Just realized that I should ask if it will fit the 5.56 Patrol. Might be a no-brainer but I wanted to make sure. Thanks

I am definitely interested in one of these trigger guards. This addresses one of the few dislikes I have with the MVP. Being able to torque the action screws without fear of cracking the stock guard seems like the most obvious benefit of this part. Please put me down for one!

Saxd45, only a ruff sketch at this point. I was supposed to have a meeting with my cad guy on Tuesday, but had to put it off to a family matter. I will see him this weekend. I have made it longer and a touch wider on the bottom for starters. I will most likely change a few times before we are done.

Okay. No problem. I'd like to be kept up to date on these additions you are making. If the quality is as good as the trigger guard then we're looking at some quality stuff.

Marneus, no problem. I am a hobby guy and like to have nice stuff as well as functional stuff. I will keep everyone posted on the other pieces as they come along as well as the current project.

saxd45, I will keep everyone up to date and will most likely start a thread about it. All parts will be made with 6061 t6.

Gbj, That is a very good question, I will have to find that out for you. I will put your name in for now, and if it doesn't will just take it off. I guess I would have to make one for that then too if it doesn't.

Zbob, I agree 100%. This gives a better lock down to the rear action screw as well as not having to worry splitting the stock plastic guard. When I pulled my original guard off I noticed that the bedding post had caused the crack from it not being flush. I do not have to worry about that anymore.
