I decided to have a little adventure the other day....Yep, it was time too seek out and explore the far reaches of the safe.
Much adventure was had as I opened boxes and zippered pouches .Some of which had not seen the light of day for who knows how long.
One might refer too this adventure as a "Pre-paid treasure hunt".
After all , everything in there is mine. :)
Among the various treasures , were countless springs , triggers , a Primary arms Dot and all manner of
spare magazines. As I was sorting out the magazines I came across two ASC Black Stainless ten rounders that came with my Stag Mdl 8 . I had never used them = out of sight out of mind had no idea how well they worked. So I decided to give them a try in my MVP Predator ......

Having only used the P-mags , I knew one had to be assertive when loading a new round in the chamber.
As for the ASC units, what a pleasant surprise they had in store for me. Oh Boy!
Those ASC units not only fit better , they feed like butter.....so much so , that I thought the bolt failed to strip a round off the mag...nope ,It was there. Happened to me twice.....each time there was round ready to be sent down range. No failures to feed here...just give it a nice little push and Viola!
Yes indeed , A Pleasant Surprise

Hope you enjoyed my little adventure.
    Happy Shootin To All!

so how about some measurements... from the top of the lock notch to the top of the feed lips and from the bottom of the lock notch to the bottom of the mag and the height of the lock notch. If you take your other mags and measure those too we can even see the difference. Might be that very specific tolerances need to be followed. Could have just gotten the recipe.

Not likely to happen anytime soon...in the middle of a remodel and the calipers are packed away...
But , just using a tape measure they appear to be the same height from the top of the notch to the feed lips.... Perhaps it's the shape or materials used that made the difference . Don't know, but I'm sure going to use the heck out of those two mags!

    Happy Shootin To All!

Well, It appears I overlooked one very obvious difference....The profile on the rear ramp of the ASC is far more progressive then the up the hill p-mag.

The feed lip profile in the front also looks a little different between the two.
