    Hi folks!

I'm just curious as to what type of accuracy folks are pulling out of their Patrol's in 7.62, whether it be factory ammo, hand loads, etc.

I've been thinking more and more and more and more and more about adding one of these lil' fellas to my stable, but am curious about this. I am well aware its not a precision rifle, and I'm aware of its intended use, but again, i'm still curious.

Yes, good question! It is just about time for me as well. Have thoughts of going with a Savage or Tikka but always come back to the MVP. Mag compatibility keeps me coming back!

    Yup!

I have my little non precision rifle in 5.56, then the MVP for precise work, both share the same mags.

I currently have a big fat M1A as my "precision" .308 platform, so the lil patrol would be a good companion for it.....though I'd love a SOCOM16....but really dont want to drop $1600

I haven't gotten to play with mine much because I got it so late in the fall last year and it's been too darn cold to take it out since I got the scope on it. Judging from how it shoots with the iron sights and the M-308 scope borrowed from my AR10, is seems to be pretty darn accurate out of the box. Nice trigger for stock too. Light pull and it feels smooth.

The M-308 is specifically optimized for the 168 HPBT Match. I may try 175 but most of the time I'll be shooting Lake City or reloads. 168 and 175 match ammo is an expensive diet.

I load 178gr Hornady AMAX over 40.5 gr of Accurate 2495 in a Hornady Match case with CCI primers.
I'm very happy with that load and it gives me sub-MOA to half MOA accuracy.

I mounted a Nikon Prostaff on mine, and using regular old 7.62 NATO this thing is a deadly accurate.

So, some are getting sub MOA out of the patrol?

To be honest, I haven't had enough time to shoot mine to say for sure. I got mine just after getting back from Afghanistan in November and then had scope issues. Based on what I did see out of it for what little time I did get to play with it, I can see it definitely shooting MOA, if not less at 100 yards.

I am getting MOA or less as well with a Nikon scope out to 200yards. Don't have any longer rangers near by

You guys need a dose of 1/4 MOA :) Beware, its addictive and takes away from beer money

So does anybody have a few good recipes for reloads for this rifle. I just loaded a few Hornady 165 SPBT over 42 grains of IMR 4064 at 2.8 inches. Will be shooting those this wed but only at 50 yards.

178 SMK kicked out by Varget or 4064 are my favorites. 10000MOA is getting good results out of his with 178gr Hornady AMAX over 40.5 gr of Accurate 2495 in a Hornady Match case with CCI primers.

Here is what the Hornady 165 SPBT over 42 grains of IMR 4064 LC brass at 2.80 did from a bi pod at 50 yards..

I do need a lot more time behind the trigger : )

Here's my latest load... at 100 yards. Ignore the flyer on the right. (It's definitely an operator error :()

    - Mixed brass
    - all flash holes deburred
    - (cheap) Hornady 150 grain FMJ BT
    - 42 grain of Benchmark
    - OAL of 2.745

    - 16.5 inch barrel cryo treated

This is my Patrol group....24.5 gr of 4227 behind a 150gr Hornady fmjbt. The two by the bulls were me compensating without adjusting the scope.
