Pulling out Project Homunculus today for a 200m high power silhouette match.

Here's some footage from a whole relay at last month's match. You get some idea of the pace since you can hear the range commands. My coach is calling the range commands for this relay.

I'll be shooting 7mm BR 130gn SMK's at 2560fps. That's 30 grains of Benchmark, neck sized RP 7BR brass, CCI Benchrest SRP, and 130 Sierra Match King. I'll be taking some of my ram loads too but just for practice. Ram loads are 162 grain Hornady SST at 2250fps from 31 grains of N550.

I'll be trying to get some more decent footage. It's hard at this range due to the setup. It's super bright outside and dark inside. Flips out cameras.

This match is the first sunday of every month for the next few months till the range closes down. If you want to join hit up the Anthony Chabot Gun Club in Castro Valley, CA, head over to the marksmanship range and check it out. Feel free to bring your MVP and compete. These are not sanctioned matches so just about any non-magnum gun is ok. Entry fee is 10-12 bucks. Match registration starts at 9am.

Another win for me and my coach. I shot 42%, my coach shot 63%. I took my class and the next class up and my coach took the overall match (which included 2 classes above his). I shot out of my class and got a leg in the next class up. I'm shooting pretty consistently better each time I go out and my scores are consistent between the different rifle categories. I'm pretty hopeful my coach and I will be shooting in the same class in a year or so.

I did also have a chance to review his new Vortex Viper PST 6-24x FFP. Check that out at the new thread on that topic:
